Rivy Music Group is proud to present Soul of Memphis, a new monthly singer songwriter competition celebrating original music in the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll and soul. Launching in July 2026 at the legendary Ernestine & Hazel’s, the series will feature 12 performers per round competing for a spot in the December Showcase. Songwriters must sing or play a musical instrument during their live performance. Judging combines 75% industry pre-scoring with 25% live audience vote. 

Submissions are open on a rolling basis and close at 5:00 PM one week before each round, or when the 12 spots are filled. “We’re excited to create a platform that honors the soul and songwriting spirit of Memphis,” said Ginny B. Cash, Rivy Music Group. “This series welcomes both emerging and seasoned writers to share their original work in an intimate, historic setting.”
